While in Virginia, we decided to go to the Washington D.C. Temple. It is a beautiful building that is very important to us Mormons. Mr and Mrs were married there.

Lawsons to Virginia: Part 5
Okay, I know this has taken a while. but I thought I might as well finish this before moving on. While in Virginia, we had to go see the Washington Memorial/Monument. We've never been inside, so we thought we should go out and see it this trip. Here's some pics we took.

Lawsons to Virginia: Part 4
Okay folks! Well, in case you haven't noticed already, we have a lot of events we want to tell you about from our trip to Virginia. So, prepare to be amazed! For this showing of our series: "Lawsons to Virginia" we are at the National Gallery of Art. They have a program for kids over the summer, where you basically go to a class and learn about a specific piece of art. This post features the older kids turn. Theres was a different day than the young 'uns. To start off our day, we headed off to the Natural History Museum, and watched an IMAX movie in their theater, and than headed over to the National Gallery, and enjoyed our wonderful lesson on "The Sanctuary of Hercules". Short but sweet.

Lawsons to Virginia: Part 2
We arrived in Virginia on a Saturday, very late, and than went to church with Mrs sister, Emily, and her family the very next day, but didn't do much. On Monday, we headed up to Washington D.C. Moi, Mr, and Mrs dad, Bill, went to the Holocaust Museum, and everybody else headed to the National Gallery of Art, and the younger kids took some special art lesson thingys. Afterwards, we went to a park and had a delicious lunch of empanadas. A wonderful first half of the day, but still more to come on Lawsons to Virginia: Part 3.

Lawsons to Virginia: Part 1
Okay fellow chipmunks! The Lawsons recently went on a trip to Virginia to visit Kathy's side of the family, so we could see both sides in one summer before school starts this Monday. Anyways, on our way up to Virginia, we took three days. We usually take two days, and drive to Memphis or Nashville the first night, and than head up to Virginia the next, but this time we made it longer, so we could visit some friends and other family. The first night, we stopped in Memphis, and stayed the night there. The second day, we drove up to Perryville, Kentucky, to visit some "long time, no see" friends. We stayed the night there, than drove up to Louisville, to 1) Visit Kathy's grandparents grave site, and 2) Eat lunch with Kathy's cousin, Missy, and Kathy's uncle, Jim. Than we headed out to Virginia. Fun, Fun, Fun!!!
